The concept of "wind" (feng- pronounced foong) and "water" (shui-pronounced shway) originated thousands of years ago. Asian farmers noticed that by situating their fields in proximity to a source of wind and water, they would have an abundant harvest. These concepts were then extended to the placement of buildings and objects within buildings, such as the emperor's palace- the Forbidden City- in Beijing. The serene Taj Mahal and prosperous Hong Kong also follow these principles. As do many individuals and companies: Donald Trump, soccer super-star David Beckham, Anita Roddick of the Body Shop, IBM and Siemens, to name a few. 

Just as the body houses energy which flows in meridian pathways, everything in the environment is also comprised of energy, known as chi. Your chi frequencies constantly interact with the environments, objects and people that you come into contact with. When you live and work in a space that has a moderate and balanced flow of energy, you can sense it and you feel better. This, in turn, can influence the opportunities that you attract into your life.

The goal of a Feng Shui consultation is not only to create a more inviting, harmonious and healthy environment, but also to support you in achieving more success in your life. Personal issues such as limited finances, feeling stuck in the past, career or relationship difficulties, legal entanglements and an inability to assert oneself or move forward can be traced to energy imbalances in your home. Your environment can also contribute to health concerns.

A Feng Shui consultation is particularly helpful in the following situations:

The floor plan and site plan (if available) are the main focus for a Feng Shui consultation. The Feng Shui coach will first locate the energy zones which oversee the significant aspects of your personal or business life (Wealth, Reputation/Fame, Marriage Relationships, Career, Knowledge/Spirituality, Support Networks, the past, present and future). Consultations usually take place at the home, but they can be done long distance. Adjustments will be suggested where the environmental energy is not supporting you in achieving your goals.

For the best results, you will want to make Feng Shui adjustments in all the places where you spend time: your home, including your property; your office or business; and your vacation home.

Many Feng Shui solutions are simple, such as moving an object or piece of furniture to a more effective location. This is why Feng Shui is often referred to as the "art of placement". Enhancements such as crystals, mirrors or wind chimes may be placed in key spots. A particular piece of art, a new colour, or plants may also be recommended.

Often it is important to reorganize our possessions, and particularly to declutter, or pare down, those objects that we no longer use, love or have a positive association with. Any house repairs on the "to do" list also need to be attended to in order to create room for success. Depending on the circumstances, your place may also benefit from a formal space-clearing to remove stagnant or unwanted lingering energies or a blessing ceremony can be done to honour and recognize new beginnings.

e-Feng Shui Distance Consultations

Wherever you live, a home, garden, office, small business or real estate Feng Shui consultation can be offered, based on the floor plans. To take advantage of this option, please send the following:

1. Draw a floor plan of your environment, in which you situate the rooms, doorways, windows, and major pieces of furniture, particularly your bed, desk and stove. Make the plan as accurate as possible, using graph paper (1 square equals one foot/meter) if you feel comfortable doing so. Also provide a site plan showing the house in relation to the lot. (This service can also be provided, especially in a business setting.)

2. Write a 1-2 page description of the current challenges that you are facing in your life, including health concerns, and what new results you want to achieve through Feng Shui.
